The Buffalo Bills will be under the national spotlight on Sunday night when they take on the Miami Dolphins for the AFC East title and maybe even a playoff berth all together.
As if fans needed more drama than that, Josh Allen's status has been up int he air all week as he battles finger and neck injuries leading up to the game. Earlier this week, Allen claimed he was "good to go."
But as football fans know, players will always make the case for playing, so Allen's updates were naturally taken with a grain of salt. However, head coach Sean McDermott left no doubts on Friday about Allen's status.
"He's so physically tough, not only tough, he takes it one day at a time, gets the treatment he needs," McDermott told reporters. "Come Sunday night he'll be ready to go."
I couldn't type any words that do justice to how much Allen matters to this football team. The Bills will be challenged by the Dolphins even though they enter the game significantly banged up. Vic Fangio's scheme is known for limiting explosive plays as it aligns with two safeties up high pre-snap on a down to down basis. Cornerback Jalen Ramsey also makes it tough on rivals as he pretty much eliminates one side of the field.
Allen's been here before, though. On Sunday night, it's on him to take Buffalo to the postseason once again and earn home-field advantage in the Wild Card round.
