With the 2023 regular season coming to a close, the Kansas City Chiefs’ home and away opponents for the 2024 NFL season have been finalized.
The 2024 NFL schedule won’t officially be revealed until sometime in mid-May, which means we don’t have all the details on dates and times for these matchups. However, now that the winners of various divisions have been determined, the Chiefs’ opponents for the upcoming season are officially set in stone.
Take a look at those opponents and our thoughts down below:
2024 Away Opponents:
- Atlanta Falcons
- Carolina Panthers
- Cleveland Browns
- Denver Broncos
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Buffalo Bills
- San Francisco 49ers
- Pittsburgh Steelers
2024 Home Opponents:
- Denver Broncos
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Baltimore Ravens
- Cincinnati Bengals
- New Orleans Saints
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Houston Texans
Observations:
The Chiefs play the NFC South and the AFC North this season. Their 17th game is against the winner of the NFC West division, in this case, the San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs are 3-0 against the 49ers during the Kyle Shanahan era, including Super Bowl LIV.
At face value, this looks like one of the easiest schedules the team has played in recent memory. The AFC West hasn't posed much of a challenge in recent years. The NFC South was perhaps the worst division in football in 2023, with none of the teams recording 10 or more wins.
On the flip side, the AFC North was one of the better divisions in football in 2023 with all four teams in contention for the playoffs until the bitter end. Still, this slate of opponents could play out nicely for Kansas City.
