In a flurry of moves by the Carolina Panthers Wednesday, the team elected to end second-year outside linebacker Amare Barno's season early.

Barno was placed on injury reserve, meaning he will miss the final two games of the Panthers' 2023 campaign.

It was a season where Barno saw increased snap counts from Week 8 to Week 12. He racked up 21 tackles on defense. He was also a key special teams contributor, having played most of the snaps in all but two games before the injury.

The Panthers also elected to elevate running back Tarik Cohen from the practice squad injury reserve to the practice squad.

This season, Cohen's return to the practice squad is Carolina's eighth designated return player.

Cohen has not appeared in a game since 2020, but signed with the Panthers practice squad this season in hopes of a return.

The hamstring injury he sustained in November has kept him out of the rotation since then, however.
