Lamar Jackson had himself a game to remember in the Baltimore Ravens’ 38-6 home win over the Detroit Lions.
The Lions were the talk of the town in the NFL heading into Week 7, but Jackson made sure that the hype train for the current NFC North leaders would come to a screeching halt. From the four total touchdowns scored to the season-high 155.8 passer rating logged, the versatile quarterback had his way in the contest.
Jackson was deemed by many as a dark horse contender for this season’s NFL MVP award ahead of Week 7. Now, the two-time Pro Bowler is among the serious contenders for the honor.
Jackson currently boasts the fourth-best odds (+700) to take home the NFL’s most prestigious individual honor, which is up from last week (+1400).
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes also upped his odds for the NFL MVP award after Week 7, as he is now the betting favorite to win it. His odds for the honor sit at +240, which comes after he threw four touchdown passes in the Chiefs’ 31-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Jackson and the Ravens will now look ahead to a road matchup against the Arizona Cardinals coming up in Week 8.
