Help for rookie quarterback Bryce Young up front is on the way.
The Carolina Panthers announced on Tuesday that the team is activating Austin Corbett, who missed the first six games of the season still recovering from a torn ACL.
But with Corbett's activation, the Panthers also had to make difficult decisions, sending Jeremy Chinn, Yetur Gross-Matos, and Giovanni Ricci to the team's injury reserve.
Chinn's arrival on IR isn't a shock. Ahead of the bye week, ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed that the safety is dealing with a significant quad injury.
It is a difficult decision for Chinn and the Panthers. The safety was off to the best start in his career.
Gross-Matos' arrival on IR is a slight surprise, but injuries have been the name of the game for the Panthers all season.
As Corbett returns to help bolster the Panthers offensive line, the team also loses out on key defensive pieces that could help net some positives out of a lost season.
