Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 7, the NFL announced on Wednesday.
It is the ninth time in Jackson’s career that he has taken home AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors and his first such win since Week 5 of the 2021 season when he threw for 442 passing yards and four touchdown passes in Baltimore’s 31-25 overtime victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
Jackson led the way in the Ravens’ 38-6 home win over the Detroit Lions. The two-time Pro Bowler tallied season highs across the board, from passing yards (357) to passer rating (155.8). He also anchored Baltimore’s offense to six scoring drives in the contest.
Thanks to his standout performance against Detroit, Jackson now boasts the fourth-best odds (+700) to win the 2023 AP NFL MVP award. He currently ranks second in completion percentage (71.0 percent) and third in passer rating (101.9).
Jackson and the Ravens will next be in action in Week 8 with a road matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Baltimore holds a 3-1 record on the road this season.
