Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has lauded Lamar Jackson for orchestrating a "courageous" performance in Week 6.
"Lamar Jackson played one of the most courageous games I've ever seen," Harbaugh said during his postgame press conference. "[He] just continues to do that."
Jackson noted during his press conference that it "means a lot" to hear such comments from Harbaugh.
Jackson led the way in the Ravens’ 24-16 win over the Tennessee Titans. The sixth-year quarterback anchored seven scoring drives in the contest, including one that culminated in rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers completing a 10-yard touchdown catch. He also rushed the football 13 times for 62 yards.
Harbaugh was left quite impressed with Jackson’s overall showing on the day, especially considering that the Titans entered Week 6 ranking in the top 10 in multiple defensive stats.
"He made some throws, but more than that, there were some situations where guys were covered a little bit," Harbaugh said. "It wasn't easy. That's a really good defense we were playing against. [He] kept plays alive [and had a] couple critical first downs."
Harbaugh also applauded Jackson for the cool, calm, and collected manner in which he played with against Tennessee.
"I just think [Lamar Jackson] has hung in the pocket," Harbaugh said. "He got away. He was holding the ball, trying to wait for the guys to get open, so he a lot of patience in the pocket, yet stepping up and making a couple runs [and] converted some first downs when we had to have them. He's not afraid.
"Lamar is a very courageous guy. You have to admire him. I admire him for that."
Jackson has now tallied nine total touchdowns this season.
The Ravens will have a home matchup against the Detroit Lions coming up in Week 7.
