In Week 6, two of the better players in the NFL went at it when the Cleveland Browns hosted the San Francisco 49ers.
Star edge rusher Myles Garrett and star left tackle Trent Williams going at it lived up to the hype.
Following the game, Williams gave Garrett words of respect following the game that the Browns won 19-17.
"He’s one of the best in the world. We battled, it was tough,” said Williams. “We’ve got a lot of respect for each other, he’s everything I thought he was going to be."
Garrett finished with three tackles officially on the stat sheet but his impact went far beyond that. On the final 49ers’ drive that led to a Jake Moody missed field goal, Garrett had four pressures and two hits on Purdy alone.
Williams was seen after the game in a walking boot and missed a few snaps during the game when he had to exit with the injury.
"It didn’t feel good at all. I just tried to fight through it for my teammates. I know they got a Hall of Fame rusher over there in 95 and I wanted to get back out there so I could kind of help my team, try to contain him, I didn’t want to put Jaylon [Moore] in that position."
Williams will surely be a first ballot hall of fame recipient when that time comes, and Garrett is on that trajectory too. NFL fans were spoiled in Week 6 with these two facing off.
