The Dallas Cowboys are navigating multiple injuries ahead of their Monday Night Football showdown against the Los Angeles Chargers, leading them to make many roster moves ahead of kickoff.

Among those was the practice squad elevation of running back Malik Davis, who will make his regular season debut tonight. The news, in turn, led to sixth-round rookie Deuce Vaughn being listed among the Cowboys' inactive players for the game.

The sixth-round rookie who quickly became a fan favorite has struggled to carve out a role on offense and hasn't gotten much work on special teams five weeks into the season.

  • LT Asim Richards
  • S Juanyeh Thomas
  • RB Deuce Vaughn
  • CB Noah Igbinoghene
  • DE Viliami Fehoko Jr.
  • CB Eric Scott Jr.
  • QB Trey Lance (emergency QB)

Vaughn being a healthy scratch marks a new low for the Cowboys' 2023 NFL Draft class. The truth is, they've barely gotten anything out of it. Even first-round rookie Mazi Smith is playing in just 26% of the snaps.

Meanwhile, second-rounder Luke Schoonmaker is 36%, logging just one catch in six targets. Meanwhile, Jalen Brooks, Viliami Fehoko Jr., and Eric Scott Jr. have combined for just one game played (Brooks played when Brandin Cooks missed Week 2 and will be active today for a second time). Other than that, they've been healthy scratches.

Of course, no one is to blame for DeMarvion Overshown's season-ending injury. But it does add insult to injury as the Cowboys continue to get zero impact from this rookie draft class. They'll have to beat the Chargers without their help.
