Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has continued to prove that he still has plenty left in the tank at this stage in his career. Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith is well aware of Hopkins’ prowess on the field, and he does not plan to overlook him in Week 6.
"Good quarterback in [Ryan] Tannehill as well as 'D-Hop,’ one of the best in the game for a while," Smith said during a press conference ahead of Week 6. "They definitely have some pieces over there."
Hopkins enters the Titans’ Week 6 matchup against the Ravens ranking in the top 10 in the AFC in several stats, including receiving yards (356). Hopkins, who signed a two-year deal with Tennessee ahead of the season, has also tallied 26 receptions through five games played in the year.
Smith’s top priority in Week 6 will be to slow down the Derrick Henry-led Titans rush offense, and after that, he plans to do what he can to contain Hopkins.
"It's just going to be about doing our jobs, stopping the run first and foremost," Smith said. "[It's] what they definitely lean on all game long. Then, eliminating 'D-Hop' as well, because they're definitely going to try and get him the ball.
"It'll be a great match for us, a great challenge, so [we're] looking forward to it."
Hopkins has recorded 303 receiving yards in three career games played against Baltimore.
