Like father, like son?

Former Dallas Cowboys star tight end Jason Witten's son, Cooper, is turning heads in the college recruiting world.

According to 247 Sports' updated rankings which dropped on Thursday morning, Cooper is the No. 25 overall recruit in the country, No. 2 ranked at the safety position and fifth-ranked player in the state of Texas.

It has to help that his dad is the head coach of Liberty Christian School where Cooper plays.

Witten, 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, played on the varsity squad as a freshman in 2023. He saw action on both offense and defense, the he was used primarily as a defensive back where he recorded 82 tackles and two interceptions, including one for a touchdown.

Young Witten also had six pass deflections, forced two fumbles, and blocked three field goals. He was a key reason Liberty Christian won its first state he was named to first-team all-district and first-team all-state.

Cooper has received offers from Baylor, Duke, Missouri, Oklahoma, and TCU.

Jason has another older son he currently coaches at Liberty Christian, CJ Witten, who is also being recruited for the class of 2025 as a linebacker. CJ has not been ranked by 247 Sports, but he has received six offers from Arkansas State, Rice, Lamar, Houston Christian, Army and Missouri State.
