San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings, a former Tennessee Vols standout, received a big compliment this week from a teammate who happens to be an NFL superstar.

On Wednesday, San Francisco star wide receiver Deebo Samuel called Jennings the most consistent wide receiver that the 49ers have.

"Jauan has been the most consistent receiver that we have, day in and day out," said Samuel. "As far as blocking, going out and making plays — that's why we call it third-and-Jauan. But just coming in in better shape. Ball skills got way better. Every time you see Jauan out there, he's giving everything he's got [on] every route, every play."

It's not a surprise to hear those comments from Samuel. In fact, it sounds a lot like what 49ers tight end George Kittle had to say about the former Vol earlier this offseason.

"Anyone that watches tape, they look at Jauan's tape and go 'holy cow, this guy is one of one,'" said Kittle in June. "His mindset and his attitude when he's on a football field is completely different. He goes to that dark place that Coach (Kyle) Shanahan talks about…he is just very violent in the way that he plays the game — which you don't see in all receivers."

Jennings has developed into one of the most respected players in the NFL due to the tenacious way he plays the game. He never takes a play off and he's only interested in whether or not his team wins (Jennings was distraught after 49ers' loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in last season's Super Bowl despite the fact he had a great game).

The former Tennessee standout isn't the fastest or the most athletic wide receiver in the NFL, but there isn't anyone that's going to out-effort him.
