Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Joe Milton's NFL preseason debut went about as well as he could've hoped.

Milton, a sixth round selection by the New England Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft, completed four-of-six passes for 54 yards and a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers last Thursday night. He also totaled 22 rushing yards.

The former Vol's performance against the Panthers created quite a bit of buzz among NFL fans.

And that buzz was deserved.

Milton had the highest PFF grade (86.9) of any rookie quarterback in week one of the preseason, coming in just above Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (the No. 2 overall pick in the draft earlier this spring).

Milton is currently battling Bailey Zappe for the No. 3 quarterback job in New England. At this point, it's hard to see the Patriots keeping Zappe over Milton.

The former Tennessee standout will look to keep the good vibes going on Thursday night when the Patriots host the Philadelphia Eagles.
