The Tennessee Vols appear to be on the verge of making another huge recruiting splash.
On3's Steve Wiltfong predicted on Friday that 2025 five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr will commit to Tennessee on August 17 when he announces his decision.
Chad Simmons, another On3 recruiting analyst, has also made a prediction for Tennessee to land Sanders.
Wiltfong noted that Sanders' relationship with Tennessee's current commits is a big factor that's working in the Vols' favor.
"Sanders relationship with the Tennessee’s current commits is the best of his finalists," wrote Wiltfong. "The time spent around the coaching staff, he feels he can be developed by position coach Glen Elarbee similar to that of Darnell Wright."
Sanders, 6-foot-6/290 lbs from Charlotte, NC, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 2 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class. This is the type of player that has top five NFL draft potential.
Tennessee currently has the No. 8 2025 recruiting class in the nation. Landing Sanders could push Tennessee's class into the top five.
