Dak Prescott had fans very nervous in recent days due to a picture that went viral of him in a walking boot. And considering all the talk of a potential contract extension, this did not make anyone feel better.
Prescott is in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, enjoying vacation right before the Cowboys go into training camp later this month, and was pictured in a protective walking boot.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported earlier this week that it's just a minor foot sprain. And based on the reports, it wasn't going to stop Prescott from preparing to the next season.
Now, the quarterback as finally spoken out abut it while at the youth football camp he is hosting in South Lake, Texas.
"Honestly, I'm getting older. It's the same ankle that I snapped, and I had a nasty surgery on four years ago so a couple of hard days of training and you know, you get a little sore and you're going on a fishing trip, and you want to protect it and make sure things don't get worse," Prescott said.
"Literally, it's absolutely nothing. People are reaching, trying to make things that they aren't. I'm getting older and have to take care of my body, have to be smart. If I can take precautions and lessen something by putting on a boot, I'll do it. Sorry that I caused such a worry."
So no need to worry Cowboys fans. QB 1 is feeling "great" and will be ready to go once training camp kicks off later this month. The first practice for Dallas is set for July 25

Dak told reporters that contract extensions are the last thing he's worried about, and explained that there is only one thing on his mind.
"There's been conversations back and forth, but for the most part as ya'll know, I've been letting my agent do that," Prescott said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. "Especially as we get right here into training camp. Day 1 of training camp, my mind obviously just flips to helping my team and just doing everything I can within the organization and on the football field to make sure that I'm my best and everyone around me is their best. The money and all that will take care of itself as it always has."
Money might be important in the back of Prescott's mind but it hasn't been the motive since he was present at both Cowboys' voluntary OTAs and mandatory minicamp.
Prescott isn't the only Cowboys star waiting on a new deal, defensive end Micah Parsons and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb are also looking for their next big payday.
