The Houston Texans have started training camp, and it's been great to watch the full team together at once getting some work in.
They are now Super Bowl contenders, and that's not a secret. there is a lot of pressure on the team to improve on last season, which saw them win a playoff game against the Cleveland Browns, but ultimately lose to the Baltimore Ravens, who went on to the AFC Championship game.
To improve on last year, they need to make sure they are doing everything in their power to improve the roster. They made some changes this offseason, acquiring elite players. But the depth matters just as much too.
So far, they have invited wide receivers to training camp to work out, and they have signed some, too. Now, they are working out a running back to potentially add depth to a room that needs it.
According to Dylan Delgatto, the Texans are working out former Indianapolis Colts running back Deon Jackson, who played significant snaps when Jonathan Taylor was out just a year ago.
Jackson rushed for 236 yards and two touchdowns in two starts for the Colts in 2022. The Texans see something there and may want to add him as a depth piece behind Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce.
