The Tennessee Vols are reportedly "trending" for 2025 four-star offensive lineman Jaelyne Matthews.

"Offensive tackle Jaelyne Matthews is trending towards Tennessee but Syracuse will take a swing this weekend," noted On3's Steve Wiltfong on Thursday.

Matthews, 6-foot-5/300 lbs from Toms River, NJ, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 26 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 7 player in the state of New Jersey.

Miami, Ole Miss, and Rutgers are also in the mix for Matthews, who plans to commit later this summer.

Matthews told On3 that he wants to make sure he commits to the right program because he doesn't want to end up in the NCAA transfer portal down the road.

“I just want to take these visits and make sure I find the right fit," said Matthews. "The relationships are important and it is just how I feel at these schools. I don’t want to go in the Transfer Portal, so I have to make sure I find the best fit. That is when I will commit.”

Matthews has already visited Tennessee twice. He'll take an official visit to UT on June 14.

It sounds like the Vols are in the driver's seat in his recruitment. As long as things go well on next month's visit, it seems likely that Matthews will commit to Tennessee at some point this summer.
