ESPN made quite the statement about Tennessee Vols running back Jaylen Wright this week, just a couple of weeks ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Wright, who is expected to be selected in the early to middle rounds of the draft, was described by ESPN as the "most explosive rusher" in this year's draft.

From ESPN: Wright has the explosive straight-line speed to create big plays as a runner. He dropped a 4.38-second 40 time at the combine, and he logged 35 rushes of 10 or more yards for the Vols last season.

Wright showed off that explosiveness numerous times for the Volunteers during the 2023 season.

The Durham, NC native had four touchdown runs that went for 40 or more yards in 2023, including a thrilling 75-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Entering the offseason, Wright was mostly viewed as a late round possibility in the 2024 NFL Draft. But after a strong combine performance, it feels like Wright could be selected as early as the third round, with a small chance that he could jump into the second round.
