Life isn't getting better for Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee anytime soon.
Higbee suffered a torn ACL in the Rams' playoff loss to the Detroit Lions late in the 2023 season. Due to the timing of the injury, he won't be close to being ready to play at the start of the team workouts for the 2024 season.
Higbee is expected to go on the PUP list when training camp roles around this July, head coach Sean McVay told reporters Tuesday.
Higbee's return will be a long road back.
He was the Rams' top tight end option throughout the 2023 season, but that will undoubtedly change during the 2024 season.
Due to Higbee being injured, the Rams will have to rely on other options at tight end for the foreseeable future.
Davis Allen finished the season strong, and the Rams will be looking to him more with Higbee out.
Colby Parkinson is also an option for the Rams. But he hasn't been a real receiving threat in recent years compared to what Higbee is capable of doing.
The Rams' one fix-all remedy is Higbee returning and being the player he was before he blew out his knee.
Here is to hoping.
