The Tennessee Vols are one of two programs still in the mix to land 2025 four-star center Dewayne Brown.
Mississippi State is the other program that's in Brown's top two.
Brown, 6-foot-9/250 lbs from Hoover, AL, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 22 center in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Alabama.
The four-star center is set to announce his commitment on April 20.
One of the big reasons why Brown is considering Tennessee is because of Vols head coach Rick Barnes.
"He (Barnes) has been in the game for a long time," said Brown to On3 this week. "He has kept Tennessee to a standard that I like and a standard that fits my game and the way I like to play basketball. You can tell he cares so much about his players. They are a real family over there with an amazing fan base selling out almost every game me. Rick Barnes also talks to me often and have a good relationship."
Tennessee doesn't currently have any players committed to its 2025 recruiting class.
