The New Orleans Saints can make a pivotal pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Their roster has clear holes they need to address.
Penn State offensive tackle Olu Fashanu has been a consistent pick for New Orleans in mock drafts. They desperately need another starting OT, and Fashanu is regarded as a top three prospect at his position in the class.
ESPN's Matt Miller compared Fashanu to Saints great OT Terron Armstead.
Armstead is a heckuva comparison for any draft prospect. He was a model of consistency for the Saints during his time in black and gold.
Height: 6-6 | Weight: 312 | Grade: 93
Comp: Terron ArmsteadFashanu shows excellent poise, power and agility, and he allowed one sack and a blown block rate under 1% over 21 career starts. He is a plug-and-play starting left tackle at the next level, with Armstead vibes as an all-around player. There has been debate about his run blocking needing improvement, but Fashanu has the most potential of any blocker in this class.

Fashanu would immediately step into a starting role for the Saints. He's a pro-ready offensive lineman who is a scheme fit for the offense in New Orleans.
As for Armstead, he spent nine years with the Saints. He was an offensive fan favorite as a leader of the team and impressive blocker. Armstead is a five-time NFL Pro Bowler.
If Fashanu comes anywhere close to Armstead's career, that'd be a win for whoever selects him.
