Tennessee Vols fans won't like the latest 2024 bowl game projections from 247Sports.
The national sports media outlet revealed their updated bowl game projections on Monday and they have Tennessee coming up short of their goal of reaching the newly expanded 12-team playoff in 2024.
247Sports is projecting that Tennessee will play Nebraska in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa (formerly the Outback Bowl).
Tennessee previously played in the ReliaQuest Bowl at the end of the 2015 season when they took down Northwestern by a final score of 45-6.
Last year, LSU played in the ReliaQuest Bowl after going 9-3 during the regular season.
The ReliaQuest Bowl is essentially one of the bowl games for teams that are just outside of the 12-team playoff.
247Sports is basically saying that they don't think Tennessee will be a playoff-caliber team in 2024.
The good news for the Vols, though, is that these projections rarely work out as predicted.
