It's that time of the year again. Teams are going on their hiatus' until it's time to report to camp at the end of July. It's now Madden season. EA Sports announced that they will be unveiling the cover star of the Madden 25 game on Tuesday. Nobody knows who it could be. The favorite seems to be 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.

The big question here is could it be a member of the Detroit Lions? We scoured the Lions roster and came up with four realistic options that could be on that cover on Tuesday. Here's who they are.

Amon-Ra St. Brown

Madden is due for a skill player to grace the cover again. Last year John Madden was on the cover as tribute after his passing. The three covers before that were quarterbacks. Antonio Brown was the last receiver to be on the cover.

St. Brown has become one of the leagues hottest stars and he's fun to use on the game as well because he's usually a guaranteed catch. He would be the first Lions receiver to be on the cover since Calvin Johnson in 2012.

Jahmyr Gibbs

Another player that had a red hot season last year. He's going to be someone that Madden players are going to love to use because of his speed and agility. He's also going to be a fantasy football draw in 2024. He could be one of the top draft picks this summer.

There hasn't been a running back on the cover in a long time. Barry Sanders was the last one in 2013. The last active running back was Peyton Hillis in 2011.

Jared Goff

Probably a low chance of this happening, but Madden has put a quarterback on the cover 10 times and it's not always been the best quarterback in the league. Vince Young, Duante Culpepper, Donovan McNabb, Drew Brees and Michael Vick all made the cover. They were all good, but none of them were the top guy during their time.

Goff is the quarterback of one of the leagues most popular teams right now and he's one of the NFL's highest paid players. It's a possibility, but it's probably not happening.

Aidan Hutchinson

There hasn't been a defensive player on the cover of Madden since Richard Sherman in 2014. A defensive lineman has never been on the cover. Not once. Hutchinson could break that streak. TJ Watt would probably be more likely, but Hutchinson is one of the top edge rushers in the league and he's very recognizable to fans outside of Detroit. The goal usually is to put someone on the cover that everyone knows about.

At the end of the day, St. Brown is the best bet for the Lions to be on the cover. Don't worry about the Madden curse by the way. Calvin Johnson set the record for most receiving yards in a season right after he was on the cover. The likelihood is McCaffery though. I would bet on it.
