Pro Football Focus is at it again, folks.

They disrespected Zaire Franklin and EJ Speed last week, and this week, they decided to aim a bit higher, with one of the best individual players on the Indianapolis Colts not being included in their top 10 positional rankings.

According to Thomas Valentine of PFF, Quenton Nelson is not a top-10 guard in the NFL.

Quenton Nelson

The Colts drafted Nelson with the sixth pick in the 1st round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He's played six seasons in the NFL, all in Indianapolis, and all ending with him being selected to the Pro Bowl. He is a three-time All-Pro, twice being to the 1st Team and once being on the 2nd Team. All coming in his first three seasons, 2018 through 2020.

The Colts offense had some shaky years over the past three seasons that hurt Nelason and the offensive line altogether, so he did not get an All-Pro nod in 2021 and 2022. Last year, though, we saw him return to his domain play. And I think a big reason was the team finding a solution at LT in Bernhard Raimann to finally replace the high-caliber play they got from Anthony Castanzo, who retired in January of 2021.

With Raimann taking over the job, we saw the Colts' offensive line catapult themselves back into the discussion of being one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. And Nelson no longer having a quite literal livability beside him on the line, allowed him to take care of his assignment without him having to attempt to make up for the LT's mistakes. I think Nelson is one of the top 10 guards in the league, without question. And I think there's a clearer argument to say he's in the top five than there is to say he's outside of the top 10.
