The Kansas City Chiefs are finishing out Phase III of the offseason program this week with their three-day mandatory minicamp beginning on Tuesday, June 11.

The upcoming practices aren’t all that different from what the team experienced over the last three weeks at Organized Team Activities (OTAs). The team still isn't allowed to wear pads or hold full-contact practices.

On-field workouts with individual and group components, including walkthroughs, are permitted. 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 team drills are also permitted during this three-day minicamp.

The one component that makes it different from OTAs is that players are required to attend for the first time during the offseason workout program. To this point, everything has been voluntary work. Now, players are required to return to the team facility and get on the practice field with their teammates.

Players with unexcused absences from mandatory minicamp are subject to fines that cannot be waived by NFL clubs according to the latest CBA. They'll be fined $16,953 for the first, $33,098 for the second and $50,855 for the third missed day of practice. That's practically $101K in total fines for missing three days of practice.

Thankfully for Kansas City, they're not at risk of any contract-related holdouts. Fans will be anxious to see if players like WR Kadarius Toney, who hasn't participated in OTAs to this point, will be present and practicing. There will also be plenty of intrigue surrounding rookie WR Xavier Worthy, who missed all but 1.5 practices during OTAs with a hamstring injury.

All three practice sessions during mandatory minicamp will be open to media members. There will also be media availability following or ahead of each of the three practice sessions with players and coaches slated to talk throughout the practice week.
