Gillette Stadium welcomed Tom Brady back for his New England Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Wednesday night.

Part of the festivities included some of Brady's old rivals wishing the 46-year-old congratulations. The crowd booed former Baltimore Ravens LB Ray Lewis. They booed former New York Giants QB Eli Manning, and they booed for New York Giants DE Michael Strahan. But do you know who they booed the loudest for? Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes.

“I just wanna say congrats to Tom on being inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame,” Mahomes' said via video message. "It’s well-deserved, man. I appreciate all the advice you've given me, and especially the advice you gave me after y'all beat us in the AFC Championship Game. That put the stamp on all the hard work I've been putting in. Congrats again, man.”

It's hardly a message that deserves booing, but Mahomes got the most visceral reaction out of the crowd anyway. Even Peyton Manning, perhaps Brady's most heated rival during his career, didn't get as many boos showing up to the event in person.

The fan reactions say it all about the Chiefs' dynasty

This reaction says everything you need to know about the Chiefs' growing dynasty under Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs have been the most competitive team in football for the past six seasons and they don't look to be slowing down anytime soon.

They've won three Super Bowl titles in the last five years and they're going for the three-peat this year, something that Tom Brady never accomplished.  They've hosted the AFC Championship Game a record five consecutive times, between the 2018–2022 seasons, with Mahomes' first-ever road AFC Championship Game coming last season. Mahomes himself has won two league MVPs and three Super Bowl MVPs since taking over as starting quarterback back in 2018.

The crazy thing is Brady has a 2-0 record against Mahomes in the playoffs, including a head-to-head Super Bowl win over Mahomes with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV. Yet, Patriots fans still fear Mahomes. Realistically, they probably don't need to, but they very clearly do.

They fear that he's going to compete with Brady for the title of greatest quarterback in the history of the game. They fear that Mahomes is chipping into the great legacy that Brady has built. They know that Mahomes' success is running rampant in the league and no one has proven capable of stopping him outside of their now-retired legend. They know that what Mahomes has accomplished is reminiscent of what they saw at the height of Brady's NFL career.

It's a beautiful thing if you're a Chiefs fan. You've seen your team warp from one that everyone rooted for to the villain of the league in just a few short years.
