Primetime Games and Streaming Service Broadcasts
The Chargers have just three primetime games on the 2024 NFL schedule, but there is potential for more to be added during the final two weeks of the season.
The Week 7 game at the Arizona Cardinals on "Monday Night Football" seems to be exclusively broadcast on the ESPN+ streaming platform. That appears to be the only streaming platform you'll need to view a game this season. As of right now, the Chargers do not have a "Thursday Night Football" game on Amazon Prime Video.
Los Angeles does, however, have another "Monday Night Football" game in Week 12 against the Ravens for the "HarBowl" between brothers Jim and John Harbaugh. They also have a "Sunday Night Football" game against the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs.
Biggest Games on the Chargers' 2024 Schedule
Chargers vs. Ravens: The "Harbowl" Part II: Electric Boogaloo. The Harbaugh Brothers face off for the first time in Jim's return to the NFL.
Chiefs @ Chargers: So-Fi Stadium opened in September of 2020 and the Chargers still haven't beaten the Chiefs at home. You have to go back to San Diego to find the last time a win against K.C. at home happened.
Raiders @ Chargers: Former Chargers GM Tom Telesco is now in charge of the roster in Las Vegas. It's an added layer to an already prominent AFC West rivalry.
Strength of Schedule (based on Vegas win totals, not the 2023 record)
Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis ranks teams' strength of schedule based on Juice (Vegas' projected win totals for the upcoming season). At the time of this publication, it doesn't reflect Vegas' updated, post-draft totals and I'll update this once the information becomes available. Regardless, Sharp has the Chargers' SOS as the second-easiest in the NFL.
Revenge Games on the Chargers' 2024 schedule
- Titans LB Kenneth Murray vs. Chargers: A former Chargers player who didn't leave on the best terms. He could make his presence felt against a now run-heavy Los Angeles team.
- Gus Edwards &J.K. Dobbins vs. Ravens: Edwards and Dobbins are both former Ravens now on the Chargers. They'll get a shot at revenge in 2024.
- John Harbaugh vs. Jim Harbaugh: John defeated Jim's 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. A win would be pretty nice for Jim.
5 Must-watch Matchups
- Justin Herbert vs. Joe Burrow: Burrow was selected No. 1 overall in the 2020 NFL draft. Herbert was taken No. 6 overall in 2020 and might have a bit of a chip on his shoulder because of it.
- Andy Reid vs. Jim Harbaugh: A coaching matchup between the reigning Super Bowl champion and the reigning national champion? Yeah, this has the makings of an instant classic (and we get it at least twice).
- Joe Alt vs. Maxx Crosby: A first-round draft pick against a premier NFL edge rusher. What's not to love?
- Junior Colson vs. Derrick Henry: Run defense wasn't the specialty of the Chargers in 2023, but they'll have plenty of tests in 2024.
- Brenden Rice vs. literally anybody: Rice inexplicably fell in the draft while attending his best friend's funeral. It feels like this guy is about to go off with a vengeance.
