The 2024 NFL Draft is right around the corner and the Detroit Lions have a chance to make one of the leagues best offenses even more dangerous if they were to take a receiver with the 29th pick.
After their latest top-30 visit, that might be the way the team is looking to go. They recently brought in South Carolina receiver Xavier Legette for a top-30.
Legette was a monster for South Carolina in 2023. He had 71 receptions for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns. He really showed to be one of the best receivers in the country. He also had a really good combine that further showed his ability.
Legette is 6-foot-3 and 227 pounds. He's one of the bigger receivers on the board and when I say bigger, I'm talking about muscles here. Legette is a strong guy that's able to bully smaller corners at the line and win battles in the air. But he can also fly down field and get open too. He's not just a jump ball guy.
The concern is that Legette struggled in his first two years at South Carolina before blossoming big in 2023. Is there reason to be concerned that he would take time to blossom in the NFL?
If he's there with the 29th pick, this would be a great pick for the Lions and he would be a big part of the teams offense right away. They've needed a big bodied X receiver for a while now.
This isn't the first sign of interest from the Lions either. They also had a formal meeting with him at the NFL Combine and attended his pro day. He's also the only receiver they've reportedly brought in for a top-30 so far. Keep an eye on this name on Thursday night.
If the Detroit Lions draft this position with the 29th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, it will be a big mistake
The 2024 NFL Draft is just a couple sleeps away. the Detroit Lions will be on the clock for their first pick before you know it. We're not totally sure what that pick will be just yet since Lions' Gm Brad Holmes has a history of trading picks. If it's the 29th pick, there's one […]
