New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye isn't lacking in confidence.

That's a good thing for an NFL quarterback — success as a pro is impossible without confidence.

But Maye's latest display of confidence might be a bit misguided.

During an interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub's Zolak & Bertrand, Maye was asked if would ever participate in a throwing contest with fellow rookie quarterback Joe Milton, a former Tennessee Vols standout who is known for his ridiculously strong arm.

Maye, perhaps foolishly, suggested that he wouldn't back down from a throwing contest with Milton.

"Joe can throw it now, Joe can throw it," said Maye. "Hey, I ain't going to turn it down, now. I ain't going to turn it down."

Maye has a pretty good arm himself. But I don't think anyone on the planet can compete with Milton.

Maye might be a competitor, but a throwing contest with Milton is one event he should probably sit out.
