Merrill is a former three-star recruit from Brentwood, TN who signed with the Vols during the 2021 recruiting cycle.

The Tennessee native caught five passes for 52 yards as a true freshman in 2021.

In 2022, Merrill caught eight passes for 116 yards and three touchdowns for the Volunteers.

Merrill played in six games for Wake Forest last season, but he didn't record any stats.

Based on Merrill's impressive performance in the Demon Deacons' spring game, it sounds like the former Vols should an increased role in the Wake Forest offense in 2024.
