Mock drafts officially matter. After the first couple of waves of free agency, NFL mocks make a lot more sense. The Tennessee Titans' biggest needs are clear.

The Titans added wide receiver Calvin Ridley to the fold. Accordingly, addressing the offensive line should be at the top of their list of "wants" entering the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Titans selected Notre Dame OT Joe Alt in the latest ESPN mock draft after signing Calvin Ridley.

Alt is the dream pick for the Titans after they addressed their WR2 need in free agency. He's the best OL in the class.

Check out Field Yates' explanation below.

My projected pick: Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame

No need to overthink this one at all, as Alt is my highest-rated tackle in the entire class and is a hand-in-glove fit to become Tennessee's blindside protector for quarterback Will Levis. He has astonishing length and just recently turned 21 years old. His ceiling is high (literally, at 6-foot-9, and figuratively).

Alt would be a cornerstone piece in front of the Titans quarterback of the future, whether that is Will Levis or not. Many mocks had Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze tabbed to Tennessee before the Ridley signing, but that will change.

The Titans OL was amongst the worst units in football in 2023, and they must ensure that it is much improved in the near future in order to get a clear view of Levis' game as a pro QB. Without reliable protection, his evaluation becomes a lot more difficult for the staff.

Alt would immediately step into a starting role at one of the OT spots for Brian Callahan's offense.

Selecting Alt would be striking gold for Tennessee in the 2024 NFL Draft.
