With the NFL Combine having come and gone, let's dig into your questions as the NFL offseason rolls on.
Q: The Bills haven't drafted a Michigan player since 1996. Which of their 18 Combine invitees is the best fit/most likely to end up in Orchard Park?
I'd say Roman Wilson. Receiver is a big need for the Bills (arguably the biggest need). If he is sitting there at No. 60 in the second round, I can definitely see Buffalo calling his name.
Q: Is it actually considered tampering before free agency begins when agents have conversations with teams about their clients at the NFL Combine?
Agents doing that is commonplace. Totally normal to put out feelers. I spoke with an agent this week about a certain player and where he would like to go, his overall wants etc. Guys know these things well ahead of the legal-tampering period opening.
Q: Will the Bills go defensive lineman or wide receiver in round one?
I'd say it depends on how the board falls. Which is a very white bread answer, I know, but if a receiver they are in love with is sitting at 28, I'd expect them to take him. It also depends on what they do in free agency. Should they make a splash at defensive lineman or receiver, that would negate the need for using a first-round pick on said position.
Q: Do the Bills double dip at receiver in the draft?
I think they have to. They have no depth at the position right now. Even if it isn't in the first round, using two mid-round picks on receivers feels like a shoe-in.
Q: Will the Bills add to their running back room on Day Three of the NFL Draft?
With the amount of capital they have on Day Three, I'd say absolutely.
