The Jacksonville Jaguars have been busy making moves over the last 24 hours.
They released defensive lineman Foley Fatukasi and safety Rayshawn Jenkins to clear up cap space, and that cap space will now be used to keep their star edge rusher in town.
Jacksonville is placing the franchise tag on edge rusher Josh Allen.
Allen is coming off a career-high 17.5 sacks in 2023 and was named a Pro Bowler for the second time. He was one of the few bright spots on a Jaguars defense that was poor against the pass. They finished 21st in dropback success rate. The Jaguars also allowed the seventh-most passing yards in the league. Signing Allen to a long-term deal should be the next box for the Jaguars to check off.
