Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce is a big fan of Brett Veach's latest move in free agency.
Alongside his brother, Jason Kelce, on the latest episode of "New Heights", Travis reacted to the news of Marquise "Hollywood" Brown joining the reigning Super Bowl champions in free agency. Travis' initial reaction to his new teammate is on par with the rest of Chiefs Kingdom.
"Woohoohoo," Kelce yelled. "We got my dawg."
Travis and Jason kicked off their discussion with some contract-related minutiae. Brown's contract is worth up to $11 million with various incentive escalators, and Kelce thinks Brown is more than capable of earning that full amount in 2024.
"Hollywood is going to get $11 mil because he's worth every penny and he's about to go crazy this year," Travis said. "Put a stamp on it."
Travis isn't just excited about what Brown brings to the football field, but also about the type of teammate he'll be in the locker room.
"That's awesome, man," Travis said. "I'm pumped about this one. The guy can absolutely fly. I talked to my guys, my Oklahoma Sooners, about what type of guy he is. Everyone just raves about the person he is in the building. I saw him on Twitch, streaming the day he signed or the day he confirmed it and he was having a good old time. I think it's going to be a great addition to the locker room, as well as on the field, man. I'm pumped to get in the building and get to work (with him), baby."
Of course, Travis couldn't help but mention the text messages that Brown shared between himself and Chiefs HC Andy Reid.
"The best thing was Coach (Andy) Reid's texts," Travis said. "Hollywood ended up posting it on his Instagram. . . If there is one guy who knows a little bit about Hollywood, it's Andy Reid, baby. L.A.'s finest right there."
Reid certainly has learned how to make the perfect recruiting pitch in free agency over the years.
