Quarterback Joe Burrow returned to practice for the Bengals for the first time in over a month. Burrow was sidelined with a calf strain all of the preseason. There were some questions on whether or not he would be ready for Week 1 action, which can be laid to rest now.
There was never a doubt truly that Burrow would be out there with his team for the Week 1 matchup. Cincinnati took the right approach and went safe by letting Burrow rehab that calf over the course of the last month.
Today, Browns’ head coach Kevin Stefanski was asked if he expected to play Burrow in Week 1, and he answered with a simple yes.
Division games are the most important ones on the schedule and three of Cleveland’s first four will come against AFC North opponents. Burrow may have just one win against the Browns in his career but that has had very little do with him. He’s one of the NFL’s best at his position and Cleveland will have their hands full stopping that passing attack.
The Bengals and Browns should be a great matchup in Week 1 that will have Deshaun Watson and Burrow going at it.
P.J. Walker, Alex Leatherwood among notable players Browns add to practice squad
The Browns have built a pretty strong practice squad.
