Arrowhead Stadium holds the record for the loudest stadium at 142.2 decibels, which can be compared to a jet plane taking off.
Some players believe it really is the loudest once they get there and experience it in person. Look at the new Chiefs' left tackle Donovan Smith, as he tweeted about it shortly after the last preseason game. You can add Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff to that list, as he will find out Thursday.
"Yeah, this is the only stadium I haven't been to, so it'll be fun. I've heard it's loud. I know it's loud, and we'll be ready for it," Goff told the media.
You truly can't prepare for what will happen at Arrowhead. You cannot practice in certain conditions that will help you prepare for the noise level that will happen on Thursday night.
There is a clip of a game played between the Kansas City Chiefs and the John Elway Denver Broncos, where Elway couldn't get a playoff because he could hear. He had to have an official tell the fans over the PA system that they had to be quiet, or the Chiefs defense would be penalized.
Goff has yet to learn what he is in store for. Sure, he will figure it out because people do win at Arrowhead. However, it will be challenging. Mahomes is 31-7 at Arrowhead since becoming the starter when the fandom and craziness became real.
Either way, the NFL is back, and the Chiefs play on Thursday night.
