They've given the nod to seven different players this year. A big name joins the group, but it isn't a surprise.
Derek Carr is one of the team captains for the Saints this season.
The 7 captains were chosen in a vote by their teammates. Derek Carr and Erik McCoy were the selections on offense. Demario Davis, Cam Jordan, and Tyrann Mathieu are the defensive captains. J.T. Gray and Zach Wood are the captains on special teams.
The captains will be recognized by a capital “C” patch on their jerseys. This group will also represent the Saints during the pregame coin toss.
