It is almost time for the Philadelphia Eagles to play football, however, they will do so without veteran running back Rashaad Penny.
There is nothing wrong with Penny, who the Eagles acquired this offseason during free agency. He will sit out as a healthy scratch. For now, the Eagles will rely on D'Andre Swift, Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott in the backfield.
Below is the Eagles’ full list of inactives against the New England Patriots:
- RB Rashaad Penny
- TE Albert Okwuegbunam
- QB Tanner McKee
- CB Mario Goodrich
- CB Eli Ricks
- OL Tyler Steen
- DT Moro Ojomo
Mario Goodrich had been dealing with an illness this week, but the Eagles have plenty of depth at cornerback to keep him inactive. This means that fourth-round pick Kelee Ringo is active and will make his NFL debut today at cornerback.
Third-round pick Tyler Steen won't make his regular-season debut today.
Rookie defensive tackle Moro Ojomo has fully recovered from his concussion, however, the Eagles may not be comfortable throwing him into the rotation just yet.
