Despite the fact that the Baltimore Ravens cruised to a 16-point win over the Houston Texans in Week 1, many players on the offensive side of the ball were far from satisfied with the offense’s performance on the day.
The Ravens’ new-look offense did show signs of promise against Houston, especially as it scored a touchdown on three out of its five trips to the red zone. Still, the AFC North side had its fair share of miscues along the way, including two turnovers.
Zay Flowers is among those on the team who believe that the Ravens offense will see better days, and he sees the unit will get going against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
"I feel like next game, it'll be way better," Flowers said after the Ravens’ win over Houston. "[The] operation will be smoother. Everybody will be way more comfortable with each other."
As with Flowers, Odell Beckham Jr. made his Ravens debut in Week 1. The veteran wideout is pleased to have come away with a win in his first game donning a Ravens jersey, but he also believes that there is plenty of room for improvement for Baltimore’s offense at this early stage in the season.
“The funny thing about it is we're going to go watch the film, and I don't think too many people are going to be happy," Beckham said after the game. "[There were] a lot of little mistakes [and] a lot of things that in a bigger game another team might take advantage of.
"So, there are a lot of things we need to do. [We'll] get back to the drawing board."
The Ravens will meet the Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Sunday.
