As if he hadn’t already shown enough this preseason to impress his coaches, Cleveland Browns WR Austin Watkins Jr. may have just had his best act yet.

There’s been multiple highlight-level catches for the preseason star to this point at practice. None of them catch this one where he does his best impression of Randy Moss.

On a pass from rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson, it was Watkins who climbed the ladder and made the catch with CB Caleb Biggers blanketed on him. Through a bunch of contact and hand fighting, Watkins was able to hold on all the way to the ground.

Watkins is fighting hard to make the Browns roster after being signed from the USFL a day after training camp started. It won’t be easy, but Watkins has a legit chance and has shown he belongs in the NFL. Whether that will be in Cleveland or not is up to the Browns.

Last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, Watkins had seven catches for 139 receiving yards and a score. He has led the Browns in receiving in each game of the preseason so far.

The job isn’t done yet, as Watkins needs to continue the high level of play through the end of the preseason. That means on Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs, Watkins needs to be that guy once again.
