Tennessee Titans rookie running back Tyjae Spears is going to be the perfect co-star for Derrick Henry in 2023.
Spears was the Titans' third round draft pick this spring, and since joining the team has proven to be an illusive runner, willing blocker, and crafty route-runner. His style compliments Henry's perfectly, and Tennessee's offense will be fun to watch when they are on the field at the same time.
But the connection between Spears and Henry is just as strong off the field as it is between the lines. The two running backs paid each other compliments in a recent video posted to the Titans' social media pages. Spears then arrived to the Titans' final preseason game at Nissan Stadium repping a Derrick Henry jersey.
When I asked Spears about the jersey after the game, he told me that he found the jersey at the Wilson Country Fair and immediately remembered he had shoes that matched.
He bought the jersey for 90 dollars and decided to get some black pants and rep Henry for the preseason finale. Henry later showed his appreciation for the gesture on social media.
