How do I know? Because the film doesn't lie:
One of the biggest learning curves that QBs face in transitioning from college to the league is their ability to manipulate defenders with their eyes. Something Kenny also struggled to do last year, but has saturated this year's preseason tape:
Once again you see Pickett hold the post-safety (#37 on Atlanta) with his eyes and body positioning, widening him just enough to throw a perfect ball to George Pickens who does what he does best to finish.
Elandon Roberts is probably the key cog in Pittsburgh's want to get back to physicality at the second level of their defense. This is a two-time Super Bowl Champion, and someone that brings experience, intelligence and perhaps most importantly, intensity to Pittsburgh's linebacking corps.
T.J. Watt has been used sparingly this preseason and while that's good for him, other teams probably wish the former Defensive Player of the Year took the night off also, especially when you see these reps.
I have been perhaps most impressed by Pittsburgh's ability to create displacement in the run game. Their offensive line has been mauling people in all three games, including against a Bills' starting defense that is touted as one of the best in the league.
I don't know how much Steelers fourth-round rookie Nick Herbig is going to play in 2023, but what I do know, is that every rep he receives, the opposing tackles better look out.
Because if they think they're getting a break with T.J. Watt or Alex Highsmith taking a breather, they are in for a rude awakening.
Joey Porter Jr. and Mark Robinson tag team this rep, forcing the fumble and putting an end to any chance the Falcons had of putting up points on Thursday night. A fantastic finish to a perfect preseason.
