The Emmanuel Moseley story has been one to watch for the Detroit Lions all summer long. On Monday morning, Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell gave the media an optimistic update on the free agent signing.

Emmanuel's doing well, but he's somebody we'll discuss tonight on whether, do we do we keep him on PUP (physically unable to perform) or do we take him off? He's close. But he's doing well. He's not going to practice today, it's day to day. Hopefully know a lot more when they come back off this break on Saturday."

That's huge. If the Lions remove him from the PUP list this week, that means there's a shot that he'll be able to go on Week 1. If he's not, then it's a good sing that he's closer to being ready to go for Week 2 or Week 3.

If I had to guess, I would say that the Lions will remove him from the PUP list soon, but he won't play Week 1 due to lack of practice with the team and lack of playing live football for quite some time. I would imagine that he would get a couple weeks of practice under his belt before the Lions throw him out there. Even when they do, he'll probably be on a snap count early and won't really get integrated into things with the team until a few weeks into the season.

Still, this is an optimistic turn for the Lions. We'll see where it goes.
