The Tennessee Titans freed up a chunk of cap space by reworking outside linebacker Harold Landry's contract on Wednesday.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, the team now has an additional $8.25 million in cap space to work with.
The Titans did this by converting $11 million of Landry’s 2023 base salary into a signing bonus, which gives them a total of $10.48 million in cap space, per Spotrac.
Prior to this move, the Titans only had a whopping $2 million in cap space. Now, they have the 10th-most in the league and enough for necessary signings during the season.
Landry's new cap hit starts at $10.5 million this season and then jumps up to $23.8 million in 2024, $24 million in 2025, and $24 million in 2026.
Week 1 against the Saints will be the Pro Bowl linebacker's first regular-season game back after missing all of 2022 with a torn ACL.
