One man is an absolute menace at escaping pressure and making highlight reel plays.  The other is Patrick Mahomes.

Kidding aside, Jaguars quarterback Nathan Rourke had one of the plays of the preseason on Friday in Dallas, if not the entire season when all is said and done.  And it made some waves across Twitter(X) on Saturday evening.

Up 22-16 with 4:06 left and facing 3rd and 16 from the Dallas 21, Rourke dropped back to pass and appeared to be swarmed under by a mass of humanity.  Except he wasn't.  He ducked under two defenders, stepped out of the tackle of a third, and with a fourth hanging on his legs and dragging him down, he heaved a pass in stride to Qadree Ollison for a touchdown.

The play wowed the announcers, players, and viewers on both teams.  But someone else caught notice and weighed in on the play: Mahomes.

Mahomes is unquestionably the greatest quarterback in the NFL today and has the potential to be the greatest when all is said and done.  The two-time Super Bowl and NFL MVP has done it with a rare combination of instincts and accuracy with highlight reels of improvised playmaking.

Conversely, Rourke is the Jaguars' third-string quarterback who signed a one-year deal with Jacksonville in January 2023 after setting the completion percentage record (78.7%) in the Canadian Football League in 2022.

But for one play, the former CFL star put forth a jaw-dropping improvisation for the ages.  And the man who's made himself famous for them gave his full stamp of approval.
