The Miami Dolphins training camp practice ended with a major scare on Thursday as cornerback Jalen Ramsey was carted off the field, per NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe.

"Trainers were attending to his left knee," wrote Wolfe on Twitter. "He grabbed his left knee after defending Tyreek Hill on a pass play."

There's no knowledge of the severity of Ramsey's injury at the time of this writing but the news will likely be followed by X-Rays and even an MRI to determine where the Dolphins go from here.

Ramsey is one of the biggest reasons why Miami is considered a legit contender in the AFC East. The Dolphins traded for the three-time First-Team All-Pro with a vision in mind: Having one of the best pass defenses in a division that will feature Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers in rival teams.

That's why the team sent tight end Hunter Long and a 2023 third-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams back in March.

Paired with Xavien Howard, the Dolphins are expected to have one of the best cornerback duos in the entire league. A serious injury to Ramsey would derail those plans.

For now, all there's left to do is wait for further updates on the situation. Dolphins cornerback Kader Kohou, who provides a ton of value to the defense, told reporters that Ramsey was "gonna be good."

Further testing will tell us more about Ramsey's status.
