Alontae Taylor is a great athlete with tons of great physical traits that make him a great press man corner. He has exceptional ball skills, and knows how to use his body very well when defending a route. He snuffs out check downs to his side, and is also great moving vertically, whether that's forward or backwards. His only real weakness that I saw is his lateral movement skills. Receivers were able to beat him at the line of scrimmage on slants and quick outs. However, I see Taylor as a very complete corner who is a great CB2 for the Saints in 2023.

  • Athleticism: Taylor possesses good speed, agility, and overall athleticism, which allows him to be competitive in different aspects of the game.
  • Physicality: He is known for his physical play on the field, and does not back down to opposing receivers. This physicality can help him win contested catches and disrupt opposing receivers as a cornerback.
  • Ball Skills: Taylor has displayed strong ball skills, making him capable of making difficult catches as well as intercepting passes.

Weaknesses:

  • Lateral Movement: Taylor at times would allow opposing receivers to get past him at the line of scrimmage, particularly on slant routes and quick out patterns.
  • Consistency: Like many young players, Taylor may occasionally struggle with consistency in his performance.
