The annual NFL Hall of Fame Game is a sign that we are mere weeks away from real NFL football. 

The game, and induction ceremony shortly after, are a classic NFL tradition. Every player in the NFL dreams of one day being a part of this ceremony. With that in mind, one national media outlet decided to list every team's current player who is most likely to receive that honor. 

The pick for the Bears might just surprise you. 

Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports picked Justin Fields as the current Bear most likely to enter Canton. 

Regarding the selection, DeArdo said the following: 

Fields may be on his way to being the most accomplished quarterback to come out of Ohio State. He showed promised as a rookie and last season recorded the second-highest single-season rushing total by a quarterback in NFL history. 

While fair points, I'm not sure that either accomplishment are even close to being enough to get Fields into the Hall. 

Granted, Fields is still very young and it's not like the Bears are overflowing with future Hall of Famers. Additionally, as the QB, Fields will have plenty of opportunities to add accomplishments to his resume. 

Fields would likely need at least one Super Bowl win and would need to pass Michael Vick as the all-time leading rusher among QBs. The young QB did set the single-game rushing mark for QBs last year, collecting 178 yards on the ground. 

Nonetheless, a player like Eddie Jackson would probably have been a more likely pick. Jackson has one All-Pro selection, two Pro Bowl selections, and was included on the list of 100 Greatest Bears of All-Time.
