Another day, another highlight reel play for Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
The Seahawks wide receiver has consistently turned heads for Seattle in padded practices, and it was more of the same as Seattle put the pads on.
Smith-Njigba had one of the plays of the day, reeling in the type of sideline catch the Seahawks will hope to see a lot more of in the regular season.
The 20th overall pick in this year's draft found the endzone with a stunning grab amid tight coverage after quarterback Geno Smith rolled to his right, tapping both feet down in bounds in a superb display of concentration.
Smith-Njigba is a tremendous route-runner who can do significant damage after the catch, but his skills at the catch point were arguably underrated heading into the draft. He is an excellent ball tracker and clearly has body control to make stunning catches in extremely tight spaces.
If he makes more receptions like this when it counts in the regular season, a Seahawks offense that was a disappointing 17th in positive play rate throwing the ball in the red zone could be much more potent inside the opposition 20 in 2023.
The NFL is still making the mistake of writing Geno Smith off
The league-wide opinion of the Seahawks quarterback is bemusing.
