The Netflix series "Quarterback" confirmed that one of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' biggest personal rivals in the NFL is Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

In one of the early episodes of "Quarterback", Mahomes and Crosby are seen mixing it up on the field during a particularly intense matchup.

Mahomes was quick to fire back at his AFC West division rival during the Chiefs' comeback from a 17-point deficit last season.

NFL fans are fortunate that Kansas City and Las Vegas play twice each season. The budding rivalry between Mahomes and Crosby is good for the NFL. Those are the kinds of rivalries that fans tune in to see each Sunday. The games are a bit more fun to watch when there's real emotion involved.

And Crosby added a little juice to the rivalry this week by proclaiming during an interview with CBS Sports that he's the best edge rusher in the NFL.

"I pride myself on being the best down-to-down player in the National Football League, regardless of position so that's that's my goal every single day," said Crosby.

"I believe I am, I carry myself that way," added Crosby when asked if he's the best edge rusher in the NFL. "And that's my goal. I want to be the best and make it undisputed. I don't want there to be an argument. So every single day, that's what I work towards. And I don't care — I'm gonna keep going until I get that."

I'm sure those comments from Crosby will get Mahomes' competitive juices flowing. There's a lot of respect between the two Texas natives. But these two guys badly want to beat each other on Sundays.

And there's no doubt that Crosby's words will give the Chiefs a little extra motivation for Kansas City's two late-season matchups (both games take place after Thanksgiving) with the Raiders.
